The highlight of our week was Justin successfully running the 21.5 mile Wapack Trail race and Stacey, Cadel, Senja, and Cirrus successfully cheering him on along the way. Justin accomplished his feat on his own (though pre- and post-race banter with fellow racers and friends Brian and Andy surely helped), Stacey was only successful thanks to the help of two dear friends, Mariah and Lisa (and spouses of Brian and Andy).

Justin stops for a quick photo at the halfway point. He happily runs off with little voices shouting "Run, Papa, Run!". As he disappears into the distance Stacey returns to the car to find the doors locked and the key sitting silently on the front seat (this is New Hampshire, after all, and leaving keys in the car is quite common...locking the car is not). Enter Friend #1 (Lisa) from Stage Left. She graciously offers to drive her car back to Stacey's house to get the spare key and leaves her raincoat as a light rain begins to fall (luckily this is a local race and we are only about 20 minutes from home). Enter Friend #2 (Mariah) who, with her nearly 3 year old son and 8 month pregnant self, assist Stacey in keeping all the kids happy, fed, and off the race course. We all reconvene and continue on our cheering mission!
Here is Justin just after crossing the finish line. He must look hungry -- Senja and Harrison (Brian and Mariah's son) offer him snacks.
Yup, he's still standing after all that way. Cirrus was a grand little spectator, spending much of the race snuggled in and sleeping.
