Cirrus Week 10 (Apr 21-27)

Our week was filled with transition to this world and from this world.  On Tuesday, a cold and cloudy day with temperatures only reaching 35 degrees, friends here in Peterborough celebrated the birth of their second child.  On Wednesday, a warm and sunny day with temperatures soaring to 70 degrees, a dear neighbor in our co-housing community passed from our world.  She adored both Cadel and Senja and had a wonderful visit with Cirrus just a few weeks ago.  As our community planted pansies around the neighborhood to remember her, Cadel commented, "I remember her. I remember her very well because I can see her in the sky."

Senja is still a little uncertain of this little being in the house.
Cirrus enjoys a snooze, snuggled into the crook of Justin's arm (Justin took full advantage of being Cirrus's bed and also had a peaceful afternoon nap).

Cirrus Week 9 (Apr 14-20)

What a week.  Our hearts go out to the lives lost at the Boston Marathon and all affected by the tragedy.  We are thankful that all our friends and teammates from the Somerville Road Runners who were running, cheering and volunteering are safe.  And we feel blessed to have three exuberant little children to remind us of all the wonder and beauty in our world, in spite of such events.

Here are a few questions from Cadel that made us smile (and tested our ability to answer!):

While playing one evening, Cadel, the future physicist, asks:  "Why does a tank of helium not float away?"

While planting seeds in our garden, Cadel, the future philosopher asks:  "How was the first seed made?"

And while Stacey is nursing Cirrus, Cadel, being his 4 year old self, asks:  "Where does the milk come from? ....   Maybe from a cow inside."

Cirrus views the world from a different perspective -- just starting to hold his head up when laying on his belly.
Cirrus is unsure of these strange appendages that seem mostly uncontrollable.
 Nap time!

Cirrus Week 8 (Apr 7-13)

The crocuses are starring to bloom, we have spinach growing in our garden (under a small greenhouse-like frame), and yet between the warmer days the snow continues!  Cadel was thrilled to be able to put his snowplow to work again after an inch of snow and sleet fell on Friday.  We do love winter, but Spring will be a welcome change.

Hurray Spinach!

Our world can't decide whether it's Winter or Spring and apparently neither can Senja!  She hopped off her bike and then decided to give her skis a try.

Cirrus Week 7 (Mar 31-Apr 6)

Smiles continue, sounds abound, and cheerful response to anyone who gives attention are Cirrus's latest developments.  He has joined Stacey at several of our co-housing team meetings, being an attentive attendee and also quite distracting by smiling at whomever is sitting next to him.

We took our act on the road for the first time, heading down to Ashland, MA to Auntie Kerry's house for Easter.  The drive down went smoothly -- we stopped once after only 5 minutes on the road to tend to a crying Cirrus, but then didn't stop at all for the remainder of the 1.5 hour drive. The way home was a different story -- we lost count of how many stops we made after the fourth one tending to various needs of all three kids!

Here are the cousins preparing for the egg hunt.
Senja continues to develop her personality, being serious and quiet at times and outgoing and silly at others.
